Christmas Eve

John 1:1-14. 

The light shines, y’all. 

It helps us see the way through bigotry, hurricanes, narcissism, hate, fires, assault, silencing, environmental devastation, pettiness, violence...

It helps us feel warmth in the cold. 

It helps us remember we’re not alone. 

It reminds us that love broke through into the world 2,000 years ago, and it’s still breaking through. Compassion, courage, strength, steadfastness, hope, peace, joy, and love...these things are still here, and they will keep on being here, even in the dark days. 

O come, o come, Emmanuel. God-with-us. Let the light shine.
